Malayalam Film “Little Hearts” Makes History with AI-Generated Animation
Kerala’s film industry is abuzz with the success of “Little Hearts,” a movie winning hearts at the box office. The film, which has been grabbing attention since its announcement, has lived up to expectations, according to positive audience reviews.
What truly sets “Little Hearts” apart is its use of groundbreaking technology. The film features an animation sequence at the beginning that is unlike anything audiences in Malayalam cinema have seen before. The movie’s creators revealed that this animation wasn’t created using traditional methods but with the help of Artificial Intelligence (AI). This marks the first time AI-generated graphics have been used in a Malayalam film. The credit for this innovative sequence goes to editor Libin Bahulayan.
The film’s producer Sandra Thomas took to social media to share this achievement and introduce the talent behind the scenes – Libin.
“Little Hearts,” released on June 7th, is a production of Sandra Thomas Productions. The movie explores the complexities of relationships. Shane Nigam and Ahaadhiya play the central characters, Ciby and Soshaya respectively.
Music for the film is composed by Kailas Menon, with seven soulful songs. The melodious song “Hridayam Hariyaa” is sung by Kapil Kapilan and Sana Moidutty, with lyrics from Vinayak Sasikumar. The story revolves around the love lives of three different people, the unexpected turns their lives take, and the events that unfold.
Sandra Thomas Productions, helmed by Sandra Thomas and Wilson Thomas, presents “Little Hearts” as their second venture. Their first film was “Nalla Nilavulla Raathri.”
The movie also holds significance as Sandra Thomas’ second directorial attempt, solidifying her place in Malayalam cinema as both a producer and an actor. The film is directed by the duo of Ebi Treesa Paul and Anto Jose Pereira, collaborating for the second time. Their first directorial venture was the critically acclaimed “Member Ashokan,” starring Arjun Ashokan.
“Little Hearts” boasts a stellar cast known for their impressive performances. Actors like Baburaj, Shammi Thilakan, Jaffer Idukki, Ranji Panicker, John Kaippalli, Aima Rosmy, Mala Parvathy, Remya Suresh, Ponnamma Babu, and Prarthana Sandeep bring the characters to life. The movie’s screenplay is penned by Rajesh Pinnaadan.
